Ready to say yes to Ghana?!

I used to have a lot of self doubt. I was too embarrassed to put my art out there because I didn't think it was good enough. I didn't feel valued or confident.

When I traveled to Ghana ten years ago for ten months everything changed. The trip allowed me to build confidence, grow my painting skills, and build a community of artists (they’re still my best friends today!)

I want YOU to experience the magic of Ghana and come back changed.

I’ve built this black women-run and artist-led retreat so that you feel energized by great conversation and inspiring people. And to remind you to stand in your power.

My holistic approach honors your experiences, sacrifices, needs, and dreams.

This retreat is my love letter to Ghana. A way to give back to a place that transformed my life. I’m proud to support the creative and tourist industries in Ghana by hiring all Ghanaian artists, drivers, restaurant owners and tour guides through my retreat.

Meet Your Host!

Victoria Timpo is first-generation Ghanaian American painter, curator, CEO of Kindred Creatives Collective, and host of the Creatives Making Moves Podcast.

She took her first solo trip to Ghana in 2011 to paint and work one-on-one with local artists. Ten months later she returned home with more confidence, growth in her painting skills, and a tribe of artists.

This trip had such a profound impact on her that she wanted other artists to experience the magic of Ghana. In 2021 she launched the Black Creatives Retreat, born from a desire to build her own space for black women artists and invest in Ghana’s economy.

I know you have a full life, and going on the retreat means juggling family, financial, and work commitments, but Ghana is a special place, and soaking up the energy at this retreat will be an investment you’ll never forget.

It's your time.

Join me in Ghana for 12 days of magic.

All you gotta do is have the courage to say YES, and the rest is taken care of.

Retreat Love

“Victoria blew my mind. Everywhere we went was amazing, and I was just hungry to experience more and more. I can tell that she really cares about Creatives, and this is something she’s truly passionate about. She wants to help Creatives, not only Black Americans but Ghanaians too.”

—Devin Joyner, Performer & Certified Yogi

“The retreat was more than I expected. Victoria is very welcoming, and so were the artists. It was just a very intimate kind of artist trip, which was nice. Very stress-free. She was really good at being supportive if you were ever unsure about anything. She never made you feel bad that you may not want to do certain things.”

— Cherri Ledbetter, Painter & Sculptor
